What happens in the hour

Every Wednesday morning, the doors open at One Small Step for an hour. The format is simple: a small group, good coffee, one topic, real conversation.

It starts with connecting — sitting down over coffee with like-minded people who care about feeling well. There’s a topic each week to get the conversation going, and yes, we learn something along the way: the biology underneath it, the root cause underneath the symptom, the small steps that actually move something. But the real magic is that everyone brings their own wisdom to the room. The question that has been sitting on your shoulder for months. The thing a doctor once called “just stress.” The symptom no one has had time to look at properly — looked at together.

It’s the kind of hour that makes figuring your health out feel a lot less lonely.

Why this is free

Because some of the best health work doesn’t happen on a one-to-one Zoom or behind a paywall. It happens in a room with other people who are wondering the same thing. Listening to each other’s questions. Realising they are not the only one carrying that particular worry.

People heal in community.
— A truth older than medicine itself

The group does what one-to-one cannot. A question someone else asks turns out to be a question you didn’t know you had. An answer that lands for the person next to you lands twice as hard because you watched it land. We learn faster, and gentler, when we learn together.

Who walks in

  • People who are curious about what’s really going on under the surface
  • People who have been told their results are “fine” but don’t feel fine
  • People between appointments, between protocols, between answers
  • People who like learning out loud, with others
  • People who think they would do better with a little company on the road

You don’t have to be a client. You don’t have to know anything about health. You don’t have to have a specific problem. You just have to be curious enough to walk in.

This week’s topic
Bad habits — and why they’re not willpower problems.

Save your spot

The room is small on purpose — community works better when no one is in the back row. Spots are limited. Bring a friend who would love to be in the conversation.

Save your spot by sending a quick message — your name, a friend’s name if they’re coming, and any topic you’d love me to cover.

A reply isn’t required — you can also just pitch up. But a heads-up helps me hold a chair for you.

Practical things

Where to find us

The Good Health Shop

Look for the One Small Step room inside the shop. Parking is right outside the centre.

What to bring: yourself, a notebook if you take them, a friend if you’d like one along. Tea is provided.

What it’s not: a sales pitch. A workshop you have to pay for later. A high-pressure anything. Just an honest hour.

If Wednesday doesn’t work: the blog covers some of the same ground in writing — start with the most recent posts and work back.

Health doesn’t have to be heavy. It can feel like discovery — especially when there’s company on the journey. That is what this hour is for.
